Defense Standardization Executive Encourages DoD Participation in Non-Government Standards Bodies

On November 19, 2021, Defense Standardization Executive (DSE), Ms. Stephanie Possehl, issued a Memorandum to Service and Agency Standardization Executives encouraging participation in the activities of Non-Government Standards Bodies (NGSBs). This Memorandum further reinforces DoD participation in the development and use of Non-Government Standards (NGS), which is codified in both Public Law 104-113, “National Technology Transfer and Advancement Act of 1995,” and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circular A-119, “Participation in the Development and Use of Voluntary Consensus Standards and Conformity Assessment Activities.” The official memorandum can be viewed here.
