On January 24, 2017, the Defense Standardization Program Office (DSPO) hosted Defense Standardization Program Industry Day in Tysons Corner, Virginia.  The event served as a public forum to showcase current features, modules and functions available in ASSIST, while providing the standardization community and stakeholders an opportunity to voice suggestions, concerns and to provide feedback on ASSIST.  

ASSIST is a comprehensive system used by the Department of Defense (DoD) to develop, coordinate, distribute, and manage defense and federal specifications and standards, international standardization agreements, military handbooks, commercial item descriptions, data item descriptions, and related technical documents prepared in accordance with the policies and procedures of the DSP. ASSIST accounts are free and can be obtained at https://assist.dla.mil.
