New MOSA-Enabling Standard in ASSIST

Within OUSD(R&E) Systems Engineering and Architecture, the Systems Engineering Directorate and the Defense Standardization Program Office (DSPO) are working together to support standards development. Standardization is a key driver for enhancing competition, incorporating innovation, supporting interoperability, and enabling rapid insertion of technology in DoD acquisitions.

The newest addition to the Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) standards portfolio allows for plug-and-play of card-based capabilities to meet requirements of different mission types and emerging threats. The C5ISR/EW Modular Open Suite of Standards (CMOSS) Interoperability Requirements Specification (IRS) Version 1.1 adoption notice is now available in ASSIST, the official source of defense standards and specs, at https://assist.dla.mil.
