The Future of Standardization - DoW Digital Standards Strategy

On January 12, 2026, the Defense Standardization Program Office (DSPO) released the DoW Digital Standards Strategy, which serves as strategic overarching guidance for the digital transformation of standards development and management practices to support integrated digital and model-based approaches across the Department. The Digital Standards Strategy establishes guiding principles and lines of effort to help the Department converge on the right processes, products, and tools to garner authoritative and reliable digital standards, with the intent of developing digital standards in formats that meet the needs of standards users today and tomorrow.
